Landscapes

My ongoing project “Landscape” is a number of linocuts or monotypes that I sporadically create from time to time when I work in the studio. They are a manifestation of my inspiration with the beauty of British Columbia’s coastal and mountain landscapes. Whether it is a windy night or a quiet morning, there is nothing more soothing than the horizon of mountains and the ocean. For landscape works, my obsession with paints and inks from the tube eases up, and I avoid using bright colors, which I enjoy so much when working with abstraction. Nature mostly doesn’t speak to me in synthetic colors. The works in this series connect to each other through their source of inspiration – something I saw while living in British Columbia that deeply touched me as a serene, stunning beauty.
