Calling Names

The series “Calling Names” is my reflection on experiences of being called names. For each set of names (for example, “stupid” and “dumbo”), I pull four prints from the same plate and allow each subsequent print to fade away, and later I add layers and collage elements to counteract the degradation of color. The creative process of the color fading away and subsequent color restoration speaks to the psychological experiences of being called names and then working on restoring the individual’s confidence and happiness.
